Servicing and prices

Engine on bench

Fixit Motorcycle Mechanics offer a competitive labour rate of £50.00 per hour, plus VAT. The service times below are a guide only which may vary due to factors such as the type of bike, fairings, fitted luggage systems, etc. They are based around a four cylinder 600cc sports bike. For scooters and small motorcycles the times would be roughly half of those stated. If you would like a quote, please call us on 01275 217020 or use the contact form.

We can also tailor servicing to your requirements. If you are following the manufacturers own schedule or just need certain items such as valve clearances or throttle balancing carried out, we would be happy to quote.

Basic/annual service: 1.5hrs + parts
​

  • Change engine oil and filter

  • Lube cables/locks/pivot points

  • Check/top-up expansion tank coolant level

  • Check fuel & oil hoses

  • Check breather hoses

  • Check exhaust system

  • Check correct idle speed

  • Check hand controls

  • Check foot controls

  • Check brake systems

  • Check battery & electrics

  • Check critical fastenings

  • Clean/lube/adjust final drive system

  • Check/adjust steering bearings

  • Check suspension units

  • Check wheel bearings

  • Check/adjust tyre pressures

  • Check for stored DTC`s (fuel injection)

Medium service: 4hrs + parts

  • Same as basic service plus:

  • Check & clean/replace air filter

  • Fit new spark plugs

  • Check & adjust valves

  • Synchronize throttles

Full service: 6hrs + parts
​

  • Same as medium plus:

  • Change engine coolant

  • Fit new fuel filter (fuel injection)

  • Change brake fluid

  • Change clutch fluid

  • Clean & grease brake calipers

  • Change fork hydraulic fluid

  • Ultrasonic carburetor cleaning service.

  • Motorcycle Mot testing Monday to Friday and Saturday AM
